Analyse this. We have a local Don Munna bhai (Sanjay Dutt) with two stool pigeons Munna Mobile and Pappu Pager who comes across leotard beauty Komal who tells this hulk of a man off as if he was a naughty child at school and could be told of by this misplaced school teacher. She scolds him and says “sorry bolo” at which point, our local don loses his heart and his senses all at once. Unable to think straight or function at all without breaking into tears or doing a complete bellyflop in front of his arch enemies, they seek out a Dr. Rastogi (Amitabh Bachchan) to find a cure for our Don’s ailment. Dr. Rastogi is a GP cum surgeon cum shrink who pulls out stethoscopes from his pocket to examine potential carjackers, giving them prescriptions on car bonnets and money to boot. Little does Dr. Rastogi know that the lady of Munna’s dreams is his sister Komal. Komal on the other hand is romancing the fairly useless Raja (Ajay Devgun) who happens to save Munna’s life at one stage of the proceedings.

Komal and Dr. Rastogi swan off to Malaysia to meet an intended fiancĂ© for Komal with Raja as a bodyguard. Raja has his own little silly agenda with Dr. Rastogi pretending to be an ardent admirer of Komal just to rile the elder brother who happens to take this threat rather seriously and employs Raja the buffoon as a bodyguard. All very silly really. Anyways, once it is found that Munna is in “love” with komal, the scene is set between Raja and Munna to wrestle the lady’s love. But the lady only loves Raja so there is not much of a wrestling to do..in fact, our Komal takes the hum dil de chuke sanam route and to say anymore would be to spoil the fun that would be had by the very few who would endure this lightweight rubbish uptil this point.

Having a penchant for comedy (some may disagree), David Dhawan goofs this remake of Analyse this, a moderately amusing Robert De Niro – Billy Crystal film and ends up with a tedious and very unfunny film that is neither slapstick nor wittily written. In fact, it plods on and on and on without respite. On paper, this may have looked like a winning combination but it simply does not gel together and is a gross waste of talent.

Amitabh Bachchan is an actor who can almost do anything and he is failed by his material this time. He pitches for a slapstick approach and ends up with no laughs. Sanjay Dutt is almost an embarrassment. You think that perhaps Govinda is required to give him that balance. Ajay Devgan goes along for the ride probably for a free holiday to Malaysia or perhaps to mend fences with David Dhawan whom he had derided at one stage of his career. Well, perhaps he had reason to. Aishwarya Rai is Ms Glamour puss, almost puss in boots inn a couple of scenes and is all plastic and no heart. I have yet to come across a worse score for a film. Anu Malik surpasses himself this time. All in all, not at all offensive but hideously boring. One to miss out.
